St. Joseph’s Hospital is a accredited, faith based hospital in Estevan, Saskatchewan with 53 acute care beds
and 38 long term care beds.
Emergency
St. Joseph’s Hospital treats 18,071 emergency and outpatients per year. The most common emergencies are accidents
and cardiovascular (i.e. stroke, myocardial infraction).
Obstetrics
There are 350 obstetric cases per year at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Medicine
St. Joseph’s Hospital has a very busy medical floor of 20 beds. Palliative care is provided and palliative family
rooms with living room settings allow families to stay close-by.
Stress Tests
Last year, St. Joseph’s performed 256 stress tests.
ICU
There are three ICU beds at St. Joseph’s. Three telemetry units are also monitored from ICU.
Dialysis
St. Joseph’s houses a brand new unit that treats 12 dialysis patients per day.
Telehealth Units
Several units are in place in the hospital and the long-term care wings.
Lifeline Program
Approximately 350 lifeline units are monitored on the medical floor.
Laboratory
The laboratory provides these in-houses services:
- Hematology
- Chemistry
- Microbiology
- Transfusion Medicine
- ECG and Holter monitoring
Diagnostic Imaging
Procedures carried out: All standard x-rays including head, spine, shoulder and upper extremities, pelvis
and lower extremities, thoracic cage, gastrointestinal. Genitourinary and portables.
